The aim of the study was to investigate the efficacy of intravitreal injection of 0,5 mg ranibizumab in the treatment of cystoid diabetic macular edema as a monotherapy. In the study was included 41 eyes (type I of diabetes mellitus — 31 patient, type II of diabetes mellitus — 19 patients, blood glucose less than 13,0pMol/l) non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (DR) — 78,0 %, preproliferative DR — 14,6 %, proliferative DR — 7,4 %. Macular thickness (MT) and foveal avascular zone (FAZ) in fluorescent angiography images and best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) were measured. During the year 1 bevacizumab injection to 7,3 %, 2 injections to 24,4 % and 3 injections to 68,3 % of patients were done. After the one year of the start of treatment MT significantly reduced from 506±20 pm to 376±21,9 pm, FAZ reduced from 1,1±0,24 mm2 do 0,9±0,24 mm2 and BCVA increased or stabilized in 63,4 % patients.
