There were examined 234 patients with persisting epithelial defects (PED) and torpid ulcers (TU)) of the cornea as well as 225patients with disturbances of the cornea regeneration after keratoplasty. All patients were at the in-patient treatment at the department of pathology and micro-surgery of the eye of SE «The institute of eye diseases and tissue therapy named after V. P. Filatov of NAMS of Ukraine». There were developed working classifications of the initial state of the eye in patients with PED and TU of the cornea as well as patients with dis¬turbances of the cornea regeneration after keratoplasty on the basis of the model «the tree of the classifications», which allowed to standardize the description of the pathologic process and can be used for estimation of the qualities of the conducted treatment. The proposed diagnostic models of the determination of affection sever¬ity of the cornea, (in particular the presence of PED, TU, the disturbance of the cornea regeneration after keratoplasty) allow to determine the degree of severity of the disturbance of the cornea regeneration with an accuracy to 95.4 %.
