ABOUT THE JOURNAL

Journal of Ophthalmology (Ukraine) (Oftalmologicheskii Zhurnal) was founded by an academician Vlаdimir Filatov in 1946 and is a joint publication of the Ukrainian Society of Ophthalmologists and State Institution “The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”.  It is a peer-reviewed online journal with free access (Open Access) to its contents. The journal’s full text is available online at http://www.ozhurnal.com/en/archive. The original version (Ukrainian/English) is printed bimonthly. 

AIM OF THE JOURNAL

The aim of the journal is to develop scientific potential in the field of ophthalmology in Ukraine, and to support scientists and junior researchers. Journal of Ophthalmology (Ukraine) publishes articles of Ukrainian and foreign scientists, residents and students as well as the proceedings of scientific conferences. 

SCOPE OF THE JOURNAL

Journal of Ophthalmology (Ukraine) contains articles on eye diseases diagnosis and treatment, eye care, eye diseases prevention, history of ophthalmology, organization of eye care to population, technical equipment problems. It is committed to publishing original scientific researches and review articles on theory and practice of Ukrainian and foreign ophthalmology, cases, reviews, inventions, historical and medical reviews. It contains peer-reviews of books on ophthalmology, articles on activity of ophthalmologic societies, congresses and conferences chronicles. Journal is designed to practicing ophthalmologists, optometrists and scientific researchers carrying out fundamental and clinical studies in the field of ophthalmology. 

JOURNAL ETHICS

The Journal of Ophthalmology (Ukraine) closely follows the recommendations and requirements provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).

Print version.  Papers are published in Ukrainian or English according to the Author's choice. The journal is distributed via subscription.

On-line version. An electronic version of the printed journal. Papers are published in Ukrainian or English according to the Author's choice. This is an open-access journal; full texts are available online, free of charge.

Online English version. An English version of the journal is equivalent to its original version (all texts in Ukrainian are translated into English). This is an open-access journal; full texts are available online, free of charge.

The journal is published six times a year.
